Meet the PLP at the San Francisco Zine Fest on Sept. 4th!
Come say hi to the Prisoners Literature Project at our booth at the San Francisco Zine Fest this Sunday!
As the site notes: “On Sunday, September 4 from 11am-5pm at the County Fair Building, the San Francisco Zine Fest celebrates its 15th year by bringing together guests of honor MariNaomi and Ajuan Mance, 220+ artists and creators from the Bay Area and beyond, the SFZF Zine Library, workshops, panels, food, a dedicated kid-friendly section, and the natural beauty of Golden Gate Park for you weirdos who like going outside!”
The PLP will be selling some of its excess books for $2, handing out flyers, and will be available to chat to about volunteering and donating – we’d love to see you there!
Prisoners Literature Project is an inclusive, all-volunteer, grassroots nonprofit whose purpose is to encourage reading, the pursuit of knowledge, and self-determination among incarcerated people. By sending free reading materials to those behind bars, PLP aims to foster learning and critical thinking and help people prepare to lead successful lives after incarceration. We believe that all people have a right to read.
