PLP honored by the Namaste Foundation as an inspiring non-profit

Wonderful news – the Prisoners Literature Project has been chosen by the Namaste Foundation as one of two dozen ‘inspiring nonprofits who are working toward positive change’ in criminal justice reform.
The Namaste Foundation is an organization that ‘supports exceptional nonprofits for a more beautiful world’.
There’s more information via this Namaste Foundation announcement. The PLP has also received a monetary grant from the Foundation as part of this honor, & we’d like to thank them for thinking of us & for choosing us to be featured alongside many other vital prison and criminal justice non-profit organizations.
Prisoners Literature Project is an inclusive, all-volunteer, grassroots nonprofit whose purpose is to encourage reading, the pursuit of knowledge, and self-determination among incarcerated people. By sending free reading materials to those behind bars, PLP aims to foster learning and critical thinking and help people prepare to lead successful lives after incarceration. We believe that all people have a right to read.
