Prisoners Literature Project at the Bay Area Book Fest, June 4 & 5!
Come celebrate books with the Prisoners Literature Project at the Bay Area Book Festival! Held in downtown Berkeley over the June 4 & 5 weekend, the Book Fest will feature hundreds of authors speaking, and dozens of panel discussions, publishers, and book sellers . . . plus the PLP!
Drop by the PLP booth, meet our trusty volunteer crew, and buy a book or two to help us get free paperbacks to prisoners around the country.
(We’ll be holding court at the fest all weekend; look for us at the corner of Allston Way & Milvia St., in front of Berkeley’s old downtown post office.)
It’s going to be a great weekend for book lovers of all sorts — so please join us!
Prisoners Literature Project is an inclusive, all-volunteer, grassroots nonprofit whose purpose is to encourage reading, the pursuit of knowledge, and self-determination among incarcerated people. By sending free reading materials to those behind bars, PLP aims to foster learning and critical thinking and help people prepare to lead successful lives after incarceration. We believe that all people have a right to read.
