PLP’s 2017 Holiday Party – December 17th!
Hey there PLP volunteers & friends,
We’d like to invite you to our 2017 Prisoners Literature Project holiday party.
It will be taking place on Sunday, December 17th at 5pm at Grassroots House in Berkeley (after the book-packing session, which will end a bit early). Its main goal – to thank you all for another great year of sending books to prisoners!
We’ll be running this as a potluck again, including main dishes this time, so please bring anything you like – food and drink wise – to help everyone else have a nourishing time at the event!
(PLP management will pick up some pizza and soda in case we all bring desserts, haha. But to be clear, we also want desserts, starters, etc!)
We’ll also be doing the book swap again, thanks to Jamie. So please find a really odd, suitable, or terrible (unwrapped, used or new) book to bring along. We’ll be white elephant-style exchanging them during the event!
Other than that, if there’s any questions, feel free to hit us up at prisonlit@gmail.com – and see you there!
Thanks,
PLP Exec Committee
Prisoners Literature Project is an inclusive, all-volunteer, grassroots nonprofit whose purpose is to encourage reading, the pursuit of knowledge, and self-determination among incarcerated people. By sending free reading materials to those behind bars, PLP aims to foster learning and critical thinking and help people prepare to lead successful lives after incarceration. We believe that all people have a right to read.
