Happy Thanksgiving from the PLP!

Your generosity helps put good books directly into the hands of incarcerated people around the country. The PLP is now receiving more book requests than ever – and anything you kindly give makes a huge difference!
In addition, when holiday shopping, we hope you’ll support these local Bay Area bookstores. Each one has kindly helped the PLP get more good books to needy prisoners this year: Our longtime partner, the Bound Together Bookstore on Haight St. in San Francisco, continues to fight the good fight. In Berkeley, both Moe’s Books and Pegasus Books have stepped up to help.
Oakland’s Walden Pond Bookstore and Marcus Books provide us with discounts, as do Aardvark Books and Green Apple Books in San Francisco.
Please visit these stores — and tell them we sent you!
Prisoners Literature Project is an inclusive, all-volunteer, grassroots nonprofit whose purpose is to encourage reading, the pursuit of knowledge, and self-determination among incarcerated people. By sending free reading materials to those behind bars, PLP aims to foster learning and critical thinking and help people prepare to lead successful lives after incarceration. We believe that all people have a right to read.
